St. Hubert Catholic High School Alumnae Association and Advisory Board extend our heartfelt thanks to the entire Northeast Philadelphia community including our faculty, students, parents, alumnae, friends, and local businesses for your incredible generosity and support in our successful campaign to protect St. Hubert from closure.

The community-driven movement to save our school was extraordinary and will continue to inspire us as we plan for our future. As we celebrate our 70th anniversary, we look forward to another 70+ years of educating Women of Faith and Integrity.

I also went to an all girls high school (Archbishop Prendergast). At first I hated it, but as time went by I made life long friends, got involved in school activies and made my parents proud by getting good grades in my AP classes. I have read some of the stories on this site and the one thing that is a common theme is that of friendship and preparation to face the challenges that await you in life. I just wanted to say that from one Prendie girl to all the Bambie girls past, present and future, that it wouldn’t be right to not have you part of the “family” I wish you luck and prayers for your continued success!

To absolutely everyone that poured their heart and soul into the efforts to help save STH, a GREAT BIG THANK YOU. I know our family has done our small part, but it takes all of these little pieces to complete the big puzzle. From the folks collecting change at Cottman/Frankford, little kids pouring their piggy banks, politicians holding fundraisers, the Alumnae, the appeal committee, absolutely everyone (I know I’m missing a ton of people and I’m sorry if I didn’t name you!!), everyone pulled together to do a part! I have a senior (2012) and a 7th grader who was ecstatic coming home today, knowing that she will be a BAMBI. My girlfriend’s daughter (2nd grader) was equally ecstatic – as she wants to become a BAMBI just like mom!! I am so happy in the development of my oldest (educationally, spiritually, emotionally). I look forward to the same experiences with 2 more coming!! More work from all of us is still required in days, months, years to come, but the extraordinary efforts in such a short time most assuredly indicates that the impossible is most certainly POSSIBLE!!! Long Live the Bambi!! (This from a North Catholic Falcon, but extremely proud parent of a Bambi and future Bambies!!!!)

Keeping The Tradition Alive

Almost all the women in my family have been going to this wonderful school for over 3 generations, from my grandmother to my sister who is currently a sophmore at Huberts. i want to be able to attend this high school and graduate from it as well. I’ve pledged to become a bambie and i donated money to save the school.People say i’m crazy for worrying so much about Huberts when I’m only in the 6th grade, but I’m not crazy I just love the school and wouldn’t understand why people would want to close such a wonderful place like this. I really do hope Saint Hubert stays open for many many more years to come, GO HUBERTS!

Urgent Message: High Schools are granted one week extension on appeal announcement

DEAR FRIENDS AND SUPPORTERS OF ST. HUBERT HIGH SCHOOL,

As you may have heard, on Friday February 17^th, the Archdiocese granted a one week extension on the appeal announcement concerning the High Schools. This means we have six additional days to continue our efforts to save our beloved St. Hubert’s.

We understand and believe that the one thing that can help us in this cause is FUNDRAISING. To date, we have received over $1 million in cash donations and pledges. We have set a new goal to raise an additional $500,000, to bring our total amount raised to $1.5 million by Friday, February 24^th.

The funds we have already raised have come from over 6,000 individuals and businesses. WE ARE SO GRATEFUL FOR THIS INCREDIBLE SUPPORT. But we must ask for this support to be continued and increased. WE ARE ASKING YOU TO DONATE TODAY TO SAVE ST. HUBERT’S. If you have already made a donation—we are asking you to DONATE AGAIN in the next six days.

We realize that this is an extraordinary request- and we know that some of you have already contributed more than you can afford. But please know—this is an extraordinary moment in time when we have ONE FINAL CHANCE to save this school.

People have asked us how they can help. We need each and every one of you to become fundraisers for this cause. Make a donation yourself, and solicit your friends, family members, and neighbors for donations. Because we only have six days–fundraising events and merchandise sales are no longer our best opportunity to raise funds–we must receive donations ASAP by cash, check, or credit card.

Box # 22104, Philadelphia, PA 19136) or dropped off to the main office of St. Hubert (7320 Torresdale Avenue) attention: Jackie McGrath, Alumnae Association Treasurer. All checks should be made payable to: St. Hubert Alumnae Association.
